Port Ministry: Seafaring is very nearly solitary confinement
with just a few hours’ opportunity between voyages to re-connect with
the world ashore
Urban Ministry: Ironically, it’s easy to become lost
and alone in a megalopolis if you’re a domestic violence victim, a visiting
family member of a hospitalized patient or a stranded traveler.
Guesthouse: In midtown Manhattan, our guesthouse is a refuge for seafarers and
sojourners, as well as a gathering place for clergy, church members and community
groups.

Christmas-at-Sea Most of the Christmas gifts we exchange this year will be brought to us from overseas by seafarers. Ironically, these same seafarers will spend their Christmas somewhere in the middle of the ocean, far removed from family, friends and celebrations. It can be a very lonely holiday. You could bring a little joy to these seafarers by filling several Christmas satchels with gifts for our port chaplains to deliver to them before their merchant ship heads out to sea in December. What might have been another lonely night at sea becomes, instead, a joyous occasion, not only because of the beautiful gifts, but because strangers ashore have taken the time to share the spirit of Christmas with these seafarers. It's awesome. Click on flyer below for more information. Christmas-at-Sea Flyer
