Pre-pandemic, on selected Saturday mornings, Seafarers International House organized trips to the Elizabeth Detention Center (EDC) to visit asylum seekers to give them hope by lending an ear and by letting them know, they are not forgotten, even when their cases take months or even years to be determined. Some became our guests and are now contributing members of our community.
